The resolution will not be televised.

I’m not making any New Years resolutions this year. I haven’t been good about keeping them in past years.

Instead, I’m making decisions. And I make those every single day anyway. Today’s are no different; they’ll have to be renewed tomorrow too.

I’ve been neck-deep in self-analysis and behavior modification for months now already, trying to change my very nature. It’s been about as fun as it sounds. So, calendar, I say it’s about damn time you caught up.

John Porterhouse was born with a genetic mutation which causes rapid cellular regeneration, accelerating both his healing and his muscular development. Unfortunately, it has also left him without skin.

I did this in pencil, and skipped the inking for the sake of time. The scan turned out pretty faint, so I had to use Photoshop to increase the contrast. A lot of detail is lost in the scan, but maybe I’ll revisit this eventually.

Notice also the convenient boulder obscuring his left foot. Lazy, but efficient.

R tells me “your strength-man looks really good,” while L says he “looks like a bad guy.” I’m pretty pleased overall, given how little experience I have drawing humans. But that torso needs some work.

LJ Migration in Progress

I’ll be bringing the public entries from my LiveJournal over here gradually.  In the meanwhile you can find the complete set over there.  I’m hoping this system and interface help me get over my own posting speed bumps.  And this notice is mostly just something to put here while I’m figuring out how tumblr works.
